An Taoiseach officially opens new eircom headquarters
An Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, T.D. officially opened Heuston South Quarter on December 8th 2008.
Representing an investment of approximately €750m, Heuston South Quarter (HSQ) is one of the most significant developments in South Central Dublin in the last decade, offering a distinct counterpoint to the IFSC, with the potential to employ over 7,000 people. A mixed-use development, it boasts approximately 40,000 square metres of office space. Eircom, as the flagship tenant, is located at 1HSQ.
During An Taoiseach’s one hour visit to the eircom office, he spoke at the formal reception and also received a tour of the eircom NGX centre.The NGX centre is an innovative and immersive facility which represents the latest thinking in industry best practice and engagement on strategic business issues.
Commenting at the official opening, eircom CEO Rex Comb said “We are delighted to be the anchor tenant in such a significant development. HSQ represents a huge investment for South Central Dublin and over the coming months we will see the development evolve even further. eircom’s new corporate office at 1HSQ makes the best use of next generation technology. For our staff, it certainly represents a new world of work. It’s a new experience for everyone and I am delighted that we have had such positive feedback.”
