Change to Level 1 PCI Compliance Validation will impact Irish organisations

The recent change to Visa's Level 1 Compliance Validation Requirements, which imposes a reduced limit of VISA transactions to 300,000 per year, may now compel thousands more Irish retail organisations to undergo a full audit by a qualified 3rd party security auditor.  Click here for full details on the revised service levels

Organisations impacted are Visa System Processors or service providers that store, process or transmit Visa cardholder data on behalf of Visa Europe acquirers, issuers, merchants or other service providers.

This reflects a trend in recent years which has seen the Level 1 transaction volume limit steadily reduced from 1 million to 600,000 level last year and to its new level of 300,000.

If you require further information on the potential impact of this change to your organisation, please contact your eircom account manager who will put you in touch with the relevant eircom security specialist.
